A Nice Discovery
Last weekend my wife and I had the same day off. Since those days are few and far in between we wanted to do something a little different. Heidi and I packed up our kid (Harley Quinn) and headed for my brothers house in Rock Hill.
My brother (Nakia) and his wife (Sarah) are great host. On short notice they were happy to see us and the fact that we can bring our dog is great. Heidi and I don't really make plans so we just decided to go with their flow. As it turns out my brother had a prior engagement to attend on Saturday (Dungeons & Dragons any one?) in Charlotte, so Heidi, Sarah and I decided to accompany him into the city.
Once there I had to eat at this pizza joint called Fuel Pizza. It combines old car stuff with NY style pizza (two things that interest me greatly.
After engaging in lunch Heidi, Sarah, and I headed over to the Discovery Place. They had a great exhibit called ACTION! An Adventure In Movie Making. It was awesome. I mean get this, they had the Arc Of The Covenant right next to the Holy Grail. We are talking cinematic lore here. Not to mention a full replica of a speeder bike form Return of The Jedi, as well as a pin hole camera that you got to operate under a Star Destroyer! Needless to say the exhibit was great. We also got to see live and stuffed animals and play a lot of fun games (Simple machines are so cool and are the basis of every single machine know to man).
Ohh yea did I mention we got to see live rats play basketball? If you are ever in Charlotte go check it out.
After dinner Heidi and I had to return back to our humble home in Conway. We had a great time hanging out with Nakia and Sarah. Heidi and I look forward to our next day or weekend off together.
