Loosing Touch

I have always been a fan of learning. I also have always admired my father for the amount of stuff he knows how to or can figure out how to do. While I am a man of many talents I do not feel as if I possess the same skill set that my father does. I may know how to work a computer, but I can't rewire the socket that the computer is plugged into. I am one of few that recognizes that my fathers generation knows far more than what my generation knows and some of that knowledge is being lost. I try and attempt to learn new things all the time (for instance I volunteered to help my friend tile his kitchen over the weekended just so I could learn how to do it). I guess Glenn Reynolds over at Popular Mechanics feels the same way. If you get a chance, swing over there and read this article. I really think he hits it dead on.
