Geeky Movie Kids Cont.
Over at the WIRED blog Geeky Dad composed a list of Geeky Movie Kids that ours should look up to. While it opens the door for conversation to me maybe the Dad is not Geeky enough. I composed my own top ten list.
10. Kevin McCallister, Home Alone
Full of crafty ways of getting the bag guy when your 8. A roll model of not being afraid and using your brain.
9. Mitch Taylor & Chris Knight from Real Genius
Tow kids that show the spectrum of smartness and how they handle it. A great way to show your kids its ok to be smart and cool.

8. The Kids from Space Camp
Not that this movie could ever take place but if it did wow what fun to show if there is ever a crisis who you want on your team.
7. The Kids from Explorers
All you have to do is dream. Sometimes geekiness is found in all types of people and aliens.
6. Davey Osborne, Cloak & Dagger
Imagination can be your best friend or worst enemy, you just have to know when to turn it on and off.
5. The Goonies Kids
A band of misfit kids who see the greater good in banding together. "Slick shoes" and "Booty Traps" work wonders.
4. David Lightman from WarGames
Sometimes being smart ends you up on the wrong side of the law. A lesson that is over sighted most of the time by geeky parents.

3. William Miller, Almost Famous
A movie more for the parents of geeky kids. Shows that you should let your kids ride the winds of dreams even at early ages. Hell this is based off of a true story. Can't get much better than that.

2. Gordie & Vern, Stand by Me
Different walks of life walk together. Geeky kids have more in common with the kids across the tracks then most realize. A movie that shows the brotherhood of friendship no matter who or what type of kid you are.
1. Marty McFly, Back to the Future
Waiting not to be like your father seems to be a common theme for smart parents and there kids. Its all about perception. Marty McFly balanced that fine line and turned his geek father into a roll model.
